Lucky Girl Living

No matter what corner of the Internet you live in, it’s very likely you’ve heard of the new phenomenon “Lucky Girl Syndrome”.

If not, here’s the low down…

Essentially, Lucky Girl Syndrome is the use of affirmations (if you’ve been following my newsletter for a while, you’re familiar with how powerful these positive statements can be to your mindset) to influence your focus on positive self-talk vs. negative.

Now, some skeptics believe that LGS could border the rising toxic positivity culture (which is a topic for another day), but I’m here to say I stand behind this movement and here’s why:

Not only is manifestation (let’s call it what it is, LGS is manifestation) proven to challenge our deep ingrained negativity bias, but it also helps to alter your mindset so you can see around corners that might’ve once been viewed as roadblocks.

We have the power to influence good in our lives, and here are seven ways to do exactly that.

Set a clear intention

Lucky Girl Syndrome begins with a clear intention. Decide what it is you want to manifest and get granular about your goals and deepest desires. It helps if you take the time to write down your intention and actually visualize yourself achieving it.

Believe in yourself

Ignore the cheese here for a second, because it’s essential to believe in yourself and your ability to attract luck. As many people as you see posting about their own LGS experiences on social media, there’s still room for you to get in on the action. Positive affirmations and self-talk can help you build the confidence to believe, “Hey, it can happen for me too.”

Practice gratitude

Gratitude is a powerful tool for manifestation, and something we also focus a lot on in the Shaep community. By focusing on the good things in your life; the good people, places, moments, memories, and expressing gratitude for them, you in turn attract more positive energy and abundance. You know the people who just seem to be grateful no matter the situation? It might be worth trying it out for yourself!

Take action

Lucky Girl Syndrome isn’t just about positive thinking, in my opinion. You can’t sit at home and just repeat “I am lucky and all that I wish for will come to me” to yourself day after day. Sorry, it doesn’t work that way. It requires action. Take steps towards your goal, no matter how small they may be. That, coupled with your positive empowerment techniques is sure to create true traction.

Trust the universe

Stay with me here… I want you to trust that the universe has your back. And that everything will work out for your highest good. You have to challenge yourself and your pre-disposed mindset to let go of any doubts or fears and have faith in the process. Trust me (and the universe) on this.

Visualize your success

Visualization is a powerful manifestation technique, especially when it comes to really making Lucky Girl Syndrome work for you. It’s simple! Close your eyes and visualize yourself achieving your goal. Imagine what it feels like, sounds like, looks like, even tastes like. Picture where you’ll be once your LGS strikes. Who you’ll be with. Make it real.

Let go of attachments

Though LGS is about attracting abundance, it’s important not to be attached to specific outcomes. Whatever grandios ideas or dreams you might have, might not be your destiny. It might not be in the stars for you. There’s always a reason you end up where you are. So let go of any expectations and trust that the universe will bring you what you need! It might be even better than you anticipated.

So, make sense?

If you want Lucky Girl Syndrome to work for you, you’ve gotta do more than scroll TikTok and repeat the same line over and over. Instead, you have to focus on staying positive, taking action, and trusting the process. That’s when you’ll see the true magic of manifestation and Lucky Girl Syndrome unfold in your life. And make your own TikTok!
