Get Pumped for Your Pump! Simple steps to help motivate your next workout

When fitness is your full-time career, your own workout can get put on the back burner. Between filming video series’ and working with one-on-one clients, it can seem like a daunting task to want to get my own sweat in by the end of the day. That’s why I began to implement little tricks and practices when it comes to pushing myself to get that pump in for nobody else but myself, because I know how grateful I am that I did after the fact.

Motivation and willpower have come to be more buzzwords than anything else these days. It’s all about actually putting those words into action. Finding ways to create motivation and willpower for yourself will change the way you get things done in so many areas of your life. This is exactly why when I’m feeling like doing anything else but workout, I tap into my tried and true tricks and let my altered mindset take over.

Because, yes, spoiler alert, even trainers don’t feel like training sometimes!

Here are some tricks you can use to help you get pumped for your next sweat:

  • Treat yourself to a new active set – I can’t be the only one who genuinely gets excited for a workout when I have a brand new cute outfit to put on for it? Whether you shop at Old Navy or Alo, there are great, affordable, and stylish options for you to update your active wear with. I swear by this little trick. Everyone loves to feel good in what they’re wearing — your gym clothes shouldn’t be any different.
  • Try a new workout class – Mix things up a bit! If you feel like you’re getting bored of your current routine, scope out the studios in your area for a free trial or deal. Not only will you be stepping out of your comfort zone and trying something new, but you mind just find your new favourite way to sweat!
  • Find a workout bestie – Accountability can be so imperative to your success when it comes to sticking to a routine. If you and your bestie commit to doing a 5km morning walk every other day, between competitiveness and the fear of letting one another down, before you know it you’ll have built a new habit! You can even try out that new studio class together. Whatever you do, commit to doing it together and the likeliness of going through with it skyrockets.
  • Join a monthly SWK Challenge – Everyone loves a challenge! My membership platform offers a new and focused challenge every single month and if you haven’t tried one yet, this is your sign to join me! From live workouts every morning to meal plans and exclusive bonuses, joining a challenge is one of the best ways to get into the swing of things when it comes to your sweat schedule. Plus, my community of bad ass babes who are working on themselves together is a pretty sweet circle to be welcomed into.
  • Set realistic goals – When you’re setting yourself up for goals you know you won’t achieve, you’re setting yourself up for failure. You’re only human, and there’s no way a healthy human can lose 10 pounds in 5 days. So set goals you know you can achieve and you’ll find yourself feeling more and more excited to work towards them!

Feeling like you’re dreading a workout can be the reason your commitment to health and fitness gets completely derailed, so use these tips to get on top of it before you fall off of it. You’ll never look back and wish you hadn’t have bought that cute matching set or tried that new class, you’ll only look forward with excitement and motivation. Love that for you!
