Wild Rose Detox Cleanse: About the cleanse

Share:

This was my second time completing the 12-day Wild Rose Detox and again I absolutely loved it. Since it was my second time I found it a lot easier as I knew what to expect and how awesome the outcome would be. Unlike a lot of other cleanses you can eat as much as you want but only of certain foods. The purpose of Wild Rose Detox is to promote proper digestion and elimination of toxins and waste focussing on the liver, small intestine and large intestine (bowel). They recommend doing the cleanse 2-4 times a year however I’ve done it in January which I feel is a very appropriate time right after the holidays & getting a clean start to the new year!

What to Expect

There are 4 herbal formulas: 3 in pill form and 1 liquid. You take 2 pills from each bottle and 40 ‘drops’ of the liquid with both breakfast and dinner (twice a day). The first couple days you don’t really feel much of a difference but by day 3 (and onwards) the laxatives start to kick in and bowl movement is pretty regular – your body is starting to get rid of all the toxins! I would recommend making sure there is a bathroom accessible to you i.e. no travelling or long car rides LOL. For me I was experiencing this mostly in the mornings but it can be at anytime throughout the day. I also was experiencing mild headaches between days 3-5 I’m assuming from cutting out sugar as your body starts to go through withdrawals from it. I found out during my cleanse the sugar is actually more addictive than cocaine and I believe it! Even though I eat pretty healthy I always crave something sweet after I eat and also when snacking. Doing the cleanse really makes you realize all the additives and preservatives (ESPECIALLY SUGAR..even if its ‘natural’ it is still not considered healthy or necessary for your body) that are in almost everything we eat. After day 5 the headaches went away and my body starting adjusting to what I was putting in it – clean foods only. I didn’t experience any exhaustion but friends of mine did experience this mildly and again this can be linked back to the removal of certain foods you are used to, mostly sugar (sugar=source of energy). Personally my cravings were not really intense at any point, but again you may experience cravings at the beginning of the cleanse as your body is used to receiving these certain foods but after a few days they lessen (or even go away completely). If you decide do the this cleanse I would recommend giving yourself a week or so to mentally prepare for it because it is going to make it a lot easier once you start vs. randomly starting it one day without prior thought.

What Can you EAT?

As I mentioned before this cleanse is great because you can still eat as much as you want but of whole foods only. Basically you are cutting out dairy, sugar, processed foods and alcohol for 12 days. You are able to eat most fruits (no tropical fruit), vegetables, meat, fish, nuts (no peanuts), and whole grains (brown). No tropical fruit because it contains more sugar compared to other fruits. Most cleanses don’t allow you to eat grains so its pretty awesome that it is acceptable while on the program. I will give you the list of foods that are allowed/recommended during the diet (they give it to you when you buy the kit).

Results of the Cleanse

The number one question people have asked me is if I lost weight after the 12 days and of course anyone will lose a couple pounds after eating that clean for that long. HOWEVER, that should not be the purpose nor was it my purpose of doing the cleanse. If you go back to unhealthy eating habits after you’ve completed the cleanse you are just going to gain the weight back. I found both times the cleanse actually motivated me to stay eating healthy afterwards because it just makes you feel good internally and also makes you realize all the crap that is in everything you eat as you become way more cautious of it (I did reintroduce tropical fruit right away). I also found the cleanse really made me have a ‘clear mind’ by the end and wayyyyyyy more energy! I was waking up much earlier and being way more productive with my days, which is great!

You can purchase it at most grocery stores and health food store. I hope this helped anyone that was considering doing the cleanse, I HIGHLY recommend it over any other cleanse! If you have any questions you can send an email or ask me personally!
